Yesterday was the birthday of one of my study abroad friends, and a group of friends and I decided to go out to a restaurant for a special celebration. I was not aware of which restaurant had been selected, but my friend Marlee said that we were going to an exclusive revolving restaurant. I was very excited to hear this, and she told me that this is the only revolving restaurant in all of Spain.
The dinner was quite lovely. We had freshly baked bread accompanied with a small appetizer (literally two slices of cucumber with sour cream in between the two, topped with some kind of berry).

As for the main course, I ordered "queso frito", which literally came out as a small round of cheese, that was fried. It seemed strange to me, but it was delicious. For dessert, I split a carrot cake with Aurelie, but it is not quite like the carrot cake that we are accustomed to in the United States. It was more of a gooey puree of carrots stuck between pie tart dough. Different, but I´m not to sure if I actually enjoyed it.
The dining experience was, without a doubt, a wonderful experience. I enjoyed being accompanied with my seven friends to celebrate the birthday of our friend. We enjoyed the unique atmosphere created by the restaurant and laughed at each time we were surprised at how far we moved. I feel that without this group of girls, I would have had a difficult time adjusting to life in Granada.
CORRECTION:
NEXT weekend, I am trekking to Madrid for a trip to the Prado Museum along with other sites, including El Escorial.
